recognize

i suddenly see a mugshot of myself in my mind with bloodied face and long, ratted hair. one longer piece of hair is glued across my forehead with dried blood, stuck especially deep into the cut above my left eyebrow. my mother sees the photographs and cries, you are unrecognizable!
but i look at the photographs and recognize myself.
