AND THATS WHY

i watch him slide by in slow motion
his face is contorted in frustration
hes leaning over the wheel looking
as far as he can to the left, right
past us, but yeah of course-
why would i be in such a car?
with such a strange old man?
why would i do that?
also i realize hes not looking for me
as i am looking for him,
looking in every car,
looking out every time i hear
someone park in my driveway.

and thats why i saw him
and he didnt see me
